Maple Mountain’s Boys, Timpview’s Girls, Win 5A State Cross Country Championships Tuesday

SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, Maple Mountain’s boys and Timpview’s girls won 5A state cross country championships Tuesday at the Rosepark Complex of Salt Lake City.

For the boys, the Golden Eagles won their first state title in school history with a score of 82. Wasatch placed 14th with a score of 310. Olympus senior JoJo Jourdon won the individual state title in a time of 14:58.30.

For the girls, Timpview won the state championship with a score of 62. This was the Thunderbirds’ sixth all-time state championship. Timpview has won state titles in 1980, 1981, 1986, 1988, 1996 and 2023. Wasatch placed 10th with a score of 268. Jane Hendengren of Timpview (17:14.70) won the individual 5A state title.
