SAN FRANCISCO-Monday, following Utah’s 34-32 win over USC, the No. 13 Utes received Pac-12 player of the week honors from four standouts.
The Pac-12 offensive player of the week is junior quarterback Bryson Barnes, a former Milford High School star. Barnes was also named to the Davey O’Brien Great 8 for the week Monday.
Other Utes to receive weekly honors from the conference included junior kicker Cole Becker (special teams player of the week), junior defensive end Van Fillinger (a former Corner Canyon High School star; defensive line player of the week) and junior offensive lineman Sataoa Laumea (offensive line player of the week).
Barnes completed 14 of 23 passes for 235 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception, Becker made both of his field goal attempts and all of his PAT attempts and Fillinger recorded four tackles and a sack for the Utes.
Utah hosts No. 8 Oregon Saturday afternoon at Rice-Eccles Stadium as the Pac-12 season ensues for the Utes.
