HEBER CITY, Utah-Per Monday news, Wasatch High School head football coach Steve Coburn announced his retirement from coaching after 42 years as a coach at both the high school and junior college levels at the conclusion of this season for the Wasatch Wasps. Coburn stated his journey has been exhilarating and defined by relationships he has had with many associated with him in football. Coburn wishes to thank his players for the blessing they have been to himself and his family.

HEBER CITY, Utah-The Salem Hills Skyhawks blanked Wasatch 3-0 in Region 7 volleyball play Tuesday at The Nest. The Skyhawks downed the Wasps 25-14, 25-12, 25-20 for the straight sets victory.

5A State Playoffs 2nd Round
HEBER CITY, Utah-Brigitte Ferreyra scored twice and Hannah Risto added another goal as the No. 3 Wasatch Wasps downed No. 14 Woods Cross 3-1 Tuesday in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs. Wasatch next hosts No. 6 Olympus Thursday at 4:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
HOLLADAY, Utah-Ella Schujter and McCoy Cavazos each scored and the No. 6 Olympus Titans blanked No. 11 East 2-0 in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs Tuesday. Joss Baker recorded the shutout in the win for Olympus.
SALT LAKE CITY-Addi Rigtrup and Kingsley Hicks each scored and the No. 16 Spanish Fork Dons upset No. 1 Skyline 2-1 in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs Tuesday. The Dons next visit No. 8 Brighton in the state quarterfinals Thrsday at 4:00 pm.
COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah-Oakley Zenger, Shai Farrer, Bella Dowdle, Bailey Brown and Nellie Brown each scored and the No. 8 Brighton Bengals blanked No. 9 Kearns Tuesday in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs.
SPRINGVILLE, Utah-Mattie Neves and Halle Hall each scored and the No. 4 Springville Red Devils doubled up No. 20 Viewmont 4-2 in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs Tuesday. Annie Layton scored both goals in the loss for the Vikings. Springville next hosts No. 5 Bountiful Thursday at 4:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
BOUNTIFUL, Utah-Avah Spinning, Emmy Sorenson, Belle Sorensen and Ellyse Kessler each scored and the No. 5 Bountiful RedHawks doubled up No. 21 Roy 4-2 Tuesday in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs. Macy Reed and Taylor Delgado each scored in the loss for the Royals.
CLEARFIELD, Utah-Erin Cate scored twice and the No. 2 Clearfield Falcons stonewalled No. 15 Alta 6-1 in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs Tuesday. Lizzy Cowdell scored in the loss for the Hawks. The Falcons next host No. 10 Maple Mountain Thursday at 4:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
PROVO, Utah-Kate Yeates, Ruth Swain and Arie Bunce each scored and the No. 10 Maple Mountain Golden Eagles upset No. 7 Timpview 3-2 Tuesday in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs. Sarah Oyler scored twice in defeat for the Thunderbirds.
