EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah-The Cedar Valley Aviators soared past Wasatch 3-0 in Region 7 volleyball play Thursday. The Aviators bested the Wasps 25-18, 25-19, 25-18 for the straight sets victory.

5A State Playoffs First Round
WOODS CROSS, Utah-Oakley Anderson scored a pair of goals and the No. 14 Woods Cross Wildcats blanked No. 19 Hunter 4-0 Thursday in the first round of the 5A girls state soccer playoffs. Tuesday at 4:00 pm, Woods Cross visits No. 3 Wasatch in the second round of the state playoffs.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-Lexi Kovatch scored twice and Kaylie Schaeffer and PJ Ashworth also scored as the No. 16 Spanish Fork Dons dismantled No. 17 Salem Hills 4-1 Thursday in the first round of the 5A girls state soccer playoffs. Spanish Fork next visits No. 1 Skyline Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
BRIGHAM CITY, Utah-Mazie Tullis, Alauna Titensor and Saylor Miller each scored and the No. 20 Viewmont Vikings upset No. 13 Box Elder 3-1 in the first round of the 5A girls state soccer playoffs Thursday. Madison Thurgood found the net in defeat for the Bees. The Vikings next visit No. 4 Springville Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
LAYTON, Utah-Macy Reed scored twice and the No. 21 Roy Royals upset No. 12 Northridge 4-2 Thursday in the first round of the 5A girls state soccer playoffs. Abby Olsen scored a pair of goals in the loss for the Knights. The Royals next visit No. 5 Bountiful in the second round of the state playoffs Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-Kesley Jewkes scored the sole goal of the game and Anya Gulley earned the shutout as the No. 10 Maple Mountain Golden Eagles blanked No. 23 Highland 1-0 in the first round of the 5A girls state soccer playoffs Thursday. The Golden Eagles next visit No. 7 Timpview Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
SALT LAKE CITY-The No. 11 East Leopards blanked No. 22 Bonneville 1-0 Thursday in the first round of the 5A state girls soccer playoffs. East next visits No. 6 Olympus Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
SANDY, Utah-Kate Heaton and Erica Harkness each scored twice and the No. 15 Alta Hawks blanked No. 18 West Jordan 6-0 in the first round of the 5A state girls soccer playoffs Thursday. Annie Heaton and Lizzy Cowdell also scored in victory for the Hawks. Alta next visits No. 2 Clearfield Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
KEARNS, Utah-Nayelle Rodriguez, Zaiah Menlove, Stacy Hernandez and Luna Cazares each scored as the No. 9 Kearns Cougars dismantled No. 24 Taylorsville 4-1 Thursday in the first round of the 5A state girls soccer playoffs. The Cougars next visit No. 8 Brighton in the second round of the state playoffs Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
