Romney-Sponsored Senate Dress Code Enforced

(Washington, DC) — Senator Mitt Romney likely won’t include “making senators dress up for work” among his top achievements, but a win is a win. A week after the U.S. Senate dress code was relaxed, Romney and West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin co-sponsored a formal resolution requiring senators to wear “business attire” when they’re on the Senate floor. The “Show Our Respect To the Senate” Resolution — also called the SHORTS Resolution — passed unanimously. Romney admitted a dress code is not the biggest issue in Congress, but he appreciated both parties coming together to preserve decorum.
