Data Shows Decrease In Human-Caused Wildfires In Utah

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Data shows a recent downtrend in human-caused wildfires in Utah. According to state fire officials, the numbers show a steady decrease in such fires since 2020. The trend has continued this year, as there have been a total of 290 human-caused wildfires in the state so far this year, which is down from last year’s count of 425. Officials say a combination of public safety campaigns and weather conditions that have been unfavorable for fires are likely bringing the number of wildfires down.
