PROVO, Utah-Wednesday, BYU men’s basketball junior guard Fousseyni Traore has been named as a top 100 player nationally by college basketball publication The Almanac, a season preview compiled by writers from The Field of 68, Three-Man Weave, Heat Check CBB and Verbal Commits.
Traore, a native of Bamako, Mali and a former Wasatch Academy star, averaged 12.9 points and 7.9 rebounds last season for the Cougars, leading the team in both categories.
Traore also shot 60.7 percent from the field, ranking him 22nd nationally.
Traore and his BYU teammates start the season November 1 with an exhibition game against NAIA Life Pacific of San Dimas, Calif. at the Marriott Center.
