RENO, Nev.-Pavin Smith homered and added an RBI single and the Reno Aces bested Salt Lake 6-4 Saturday at Greater Nevada Field.

Blake Walston posted five strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Aces. Walston is now 11-6 on the season for Reno after his win.

Jared Oliva drove in two runs in the loss for the Bees.

Reno improved to 82-61 while Salt Lake fell to 66-76.

The Bees and Aces conclude their series Sunday at Greater Nevada Field as Reno goes for the series win.

Opening pitch is slated for 2:05 pm MDT.

Pioneer League Championship Series: Game 1

OGDEN, Utah-Logan Williams homered twice and Reese Alexiades also went yard as the Ogden Raptors bested Billings 7-4 in Game 1 of the Pioneer League Championship Series Saturday at Lindquist Field. Matthew Hess earned the win on the mound for Ogden while Dan Kubiuk earned the save. Gabe Wurtz and John Michael faile homered in the loss for the Mustangs. Ogden won its last home game of the season and will face the Mustangs in Game 2 at Dehler Park Monday. If necessary, Game 3 will be Tuesday at Dehler Park.
