St. George Utah Temple Hosts Media For Tour

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Wednesday morning, the St. George Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was opened to media for a tour after its renovation.

The temple, located in midtown St. George, had been closed since November 2019.

Andy Kirby, the director of the Church’s historic temple renovations, declared his excitement for people “to see the beauty of the renovated temple.”

The temple has been updated with a new mechanical system and that the north and west additions to the temple have been rebuilt to match the building’s original architecture.

The public open house begins September 15 and will continue through November 11, excluding Sundays and Saturday September 30 because of General Conference of the Church.

Kirby believes the maintenance performed on the temple shall cause it to last for as much as 70 more years.
