AUGUSTA, Ga.-Wednesday, The Augusta Sports Council named BYU junior punter Ryan Rehkow as the Week 1 recipient of the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week.

Rehkow was chosen over eight other honorees for the distinction.

Rehkow averaged 53.2 yards per punt (49.1 yards net per punt) in the Cougars’ 14-0 win over Sam Houston last Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Rehkow and his BYU teammates next meet Southern Utah Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
