(Salt Lake City, UT) — Thousands of Latter-day Saint volunteers, including those from Utah, are going to Florida to help with Idalia cleanup efforts. The Category three hurricane caused an estimated nine billion dollars in property loss. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints says officials have organized several command centers at Florida meetinghouses. Church officials noted supplies will also be delivered to the Big Bend area on the Gulf Coast by two Trucks. Numerous church-owned buildings were damaged as a result of Idalia.
