LAS VEGAS-Chris Okey and Brett Phillips homered and the Salt Lake Bees downed Las Vegas 7-5 to win their second straight game Sunday at Las Vegas Ballpark. Nick Jones earned the win on the mound to improve to 1-0 on the season for Salt Lake. Yohel Pozo homered in defeat for the Aviators. Salt Lake improved to 59-72 on the season while Las Vegas fell to 68-63. The Bees return home to Smith’s Ballpark Tuesday at 6:35 pm to start a 6-game series against the Tacoma Rainiers.

Pioneer League

OGDEN, Utah-Luke Fennelly and John Michael Faile each homered twice and the Billings Mustangs outgunned Ogden 14-11 Sunday at Lindquist Field. Brandon McPherson posted two strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Billings. Hunter Schilperoort earned his 7th save on the season for the Mustangs to secure the win.

Juan Teixeira homered in the loss for the Raptors. The Mustangs have won 13 straight and improved to 47-43. Conversely, Ogden has dropped six consecutive games and fell to 45-45.

The Raptors seek to get back on track Monday at Lindquist Field as they host the Northern Colorado Owlz for a 6:30 pm opening pitch.
