PROVO, Utah-Tuesday, BYU men’s basketball head coach Mark Pope announced Nate Austin as the program’s director of basketball operations.
Austin, who had previously served as the head boys basketball coach at Grantsville High School, had served as an assistant coach at Salt Lake Community College since May.
Austin has also served as an assistant coach at Lone Peak High School.
Austin played at BYU from 2011-2016, posting 2.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game for the Cougars.
Austin is the current leader in Cougars history in games played, making 64 appearances for BYU during his collegiate career.
Austin is a 2016 graduate of BYU, earning a Master of Arts in mass communications in 2020.
He and his wife, Kim, have two children.
