NEW ORLEANS-Tuesday, Utah senior quarterback Cameron Rising was named to the Manning Award Watch List.

Rising completed just under 65 percent of his passes last season for 3,034 yards, 26 touchdowns and 8 interceptions for the Utes.

This award annually honors the best quarterback in the United States and is the only college football award to take a performance in a bowl game into account.

Rising and his Utah teammates start the season August 31 by hosting Florida at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
