SALT LAKE CITY-Oscar Mercado and Brett Sullivan homered and the El Paso Chihuahuas edged Salt Lake 9-7 Saturday at Smith’s Ballpark to snap a 3-game losing streak.

Eric Hanhold earned the win on the mound for El Paso to improve to 4-2 on the season.

Chris Okey homered in defeat for the Bees.

El Paso improved to 47-60 on the season in victory while Salt Lake fell to 50-56. The Bees seek the series win Sunday while the Chihuahuas go for the split.

Opening pitch is at 1:05 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.

Pioneer League

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-Jacob Cruce homered and the Grand Junction Jackalopes edged Ogden 3-2 Saturday at Suplizio Field. Keenan Bartlett recorded one strikeout in three innings of work and earned the win on the mound for the Jackalopes. Nick Ultsch drove in two runs in the loss for the Raptors. The Raptors and Jackalopes return to action Sunday at 2:05 pm at Suplizio Field.
