TACOMA, Wash.-Sam Haggerty homered and added an RBI double and the Tacoma Rainiers smacked Salt Lake 9-4 at Cheney Stadium Wednesday. Tommy Milone posted four strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Tacoma while Pedro Severino also homered in victory for the Rainiers. Milone is 4-1 on the season for Tacoma. Daniel Murphy and Chris Okey each drove in runs in the loss for the Bees. Tacoma improved to 48-50 on the season while Salt Lake fell to 47-50. The Bees and Rainiers return to action Thursday at 8:05 pm MDT at Cheney Stadium.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Alex Baeza homered twice and the Boise Hawks routed Ogden 11-4 Wednesday at Lindquist Field. Anthony Walters and Trevor Minder also went yard in victory for Boise. Luke Malone earned the win on the mound for Boise, improving to 1-1 on the season. Rafael Narea homered in the loss for the Raptors. The Hawks, who trail the Raptors by two games in the Pioneer League South Division standings, are 2-0 in this series and improved to 31-25. Ogden fell to 33-23. Boise and Ogden meet again Thursday at 6:30 pm at Lindquist Field.
