SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, University of Utah men’s head basketball coach Craig Smith completed his coaching staff with the hiring of Jayden Olson as his assistant coach/director of recruiting.

Olson comes to the Runnin’ Utes program after serving as the athletic director at Williston State College (N.D.) for the past three seasons.

Olson also spent six seasons (2014-2020) as an assistant coach at North Dakota State.

Smith and Olson first crossed paths at Colorado State where they both served as assistants under Tim Miles.

Olson is a graduate of Williston State, Dickinson State (N.D.) and North Dakota State.
