(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah Poison Center is warning residents about rattlesnakes and ticks. Officials say the center has received an influx of calls about rattlesnake and tick bites The center said residents who are bitten should head straight to the hospital because of venom and disease the animals carry. Officials say full-body tick checks are important if you’ve been up in the mountains or in the brush. The center said using tweezers is the best way to get the tick out and to watch out for rash because ticks can carry Lime Disease or Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.
