SALT LAKE CITY-Daniel Murphy and Jack López each drove in four runs and the Salt Lake Bees routed Sacramento 14-6 Saturday at Smith’s Ballpark.
Kenny Rosenberg recorded 10 strikeouts in five innings of play to earn the win on the mound for Salt Lake. Rosenberg is 7-4 on the season for the Bees.
David Villar and Heliot Ramos homered in defeat for the River Cats.
The Bees improved to 42-43 on the season while the River Cats fell to 40-45.
Salt Lake can salvage a series split and reach .500 again with a win in the series finale Sunday.
The Bees and River Cats will have an opening pitch at 1:05 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.
Pioneer League
MISSOULA, Mont.-Patrick Chung homered and the Missoula PaddleHeads avoided the series sweep against Ogden with a 4-3 win over the Raptors Saturday at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field.
Zach Penrod posted eight strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the PaddleHeads.
Juan Teixeira homered in the loss for the Raptors.
Ogden fell to 26-15 on the season while Missoula improved to 30-12.
After taking Sunday off, the Raptors return to action Monday by hosting the Rocky Mountain Vibes for a six-game series at Lindquist Field.
