SALT LAKE CITY-Per Thursday news, the University of Utah extended athletics director Mark Harlan’s contract through the 2028 season.

Harlan has excelled at the national level at his profession as he was named the NCAA Division I FBS athletics director of the year in 2022.

The Utah football team is coming off of successive Pac-12 championship seasons. This particular athletic season, the Utes have also excelled in women’s sports as women’s basketball, gymnastics and softball were among the best Division I sports in the nation.

This past Tuesday, Utah softball ended the season ranked No. 7 nationally. The Utes’ women’s basketball team finished No. 8 overall to end the season. The Red Rocks’ gymnastics squad also was ranked No. 3  nationally headed into nationals this past spring.
