LOGAN, Utah-Per numerous reports, former Utah State quarterback/kicker and NFL kicker Jim Turner passed away at 82 Monday.
Turner starred for the Aggies from 1960-1962, completing 52 percent of his passes for 799 yards, 7 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.
Turner was then selected in the 19th round (No. 259) of the 1963 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins and later starred for the New York Jets (1964-1970) and Denver Broncos (1971-1979).
During his NFL career, Turner made 62.3 percent (89-144) of his field goal attempts and 95.9 percent (521-543) of his extra point attempts.
Turner helped the Jets win Super Bowl III and became a 2-time Pro Bowl kicker for New York in 1968 and 1969.
He is also a member of the Broncos Ring of Fame, having been inducted in 1988.
