Paul Peterson Selected as New Snow Football Coach

Snow College President Gary Carlston has selected former Badger quarterback and Sacramento State offensive coordinator Paul Peterson as Snow College’s next football coach. Athletic Director Rob Nielson announced this morning that Peterson had been selected from a healthy pool of prime candidates to be the school’s 21st football coach in the program’s 96 year history.

Peterson enters the job with an impressive resume which includes a very successful stint as offensive coordinator at Sacramento State since 2012. While there, he produced some of the best numbers in school history, including nine school single season records in points (458), points per game (38.2), touchdowns (60) and total yards (5,780). Peterson also coached at Southern Utah University as a quarterbacks coach.

His playing career includes starting quarterback at both Boston College and Snow college. At Snow College in 2002, Peterson took All-Western States Football League first team honors after leading the Badgers to an 8–2 record, throwing for 2,982 yards and 35 touchdowns in 10 games. At Boston College he finished the 2004 season with 2,594 passing yards, 18 touchdowns. Peterson played his prep years at Bingham high where he put up similar numbers.

Peterson comes to Ephraim with his wife, Meagan, and their five sons. He replaces former Badger head coach Britt Maughan, who resigned at the end of last year.
