(Washington, DC) – U.S. Representative from Utah, Jason Chaffetz and President Trump are taking a look at the Bears Ears Monument issue. Chaffetz met privately with the President yesterday in the Oval Office. Chaffetz wants President Trump to consider rescinding former President Obama’s designation as a National Monument of millions of acres in the Bears Ears region of San Juan County in southeastern Utah. Last week, Governor Herbert signed a resolution passed by both houses in the state legislature asking President Trump to rescind Obama’s national monument designation to allow for the Bears Ears area to be managed by Utah.Â
