Snow Men’s Basketball SWAC All-Region Honors

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah- On Thursday night the Scenic West Athletic Conference announced their Coach of the Year, Players of the Year and All-Region awards.

For the men, the Coach of the Years was Rob Nielson from Snow College. Coach Nielson led the Badgers to a 13-3 conference record and the regular season championship.

On the women’s side, Betsy Specketer from Salt Lake Community College was awarded the Coach of the Year honors. Coach Specketer led the Bruins to a 14-2 SWAC record and the regular season championship. This is the ninth time Coach Specketer has received this award.

Zach Hunsaker, from Snow College, was named the SWAC Men’s Player of the Year. Zach led the conference in scoring averaging 20.4 points per game against conference opponents. Hunsaker was also number one in the SWAC in free throw percentage at .827.

Tia Hay, from Salt Lake Community College, and Brianna Osorio, from College of Southern Idaho split the Play of the Year honors on the ladies side.
