Hatch Introduces Bill To Speed Religious Visas

(Washington, DC)  –  Utah Senator Orrin Hatch is sponsoring a bill that would help speed up the process of giving visas to missionaries and religious workers from other countries.  The Republican senator introduced the bill yesterday with the strong support of the Mormon Church.  The Religious Worker Visa Improvement Act would allow a “blanket petition process” that would shorten the visa approval process to a few weeks.  Currently, religious workers and missionaries can wait up to nine months for processing of visa requests.Â
