LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz.-Former Millard High star golfer Nicklaus Bruce shot a 4-under 68 Wednesday to help the Dixie State men’s golf team win the Pac-West men’s golf tournament at the Wigwam Resort Golf Course.

The Trail Blazers clinched their third consecutive conference tournament title and finished at 54 +9 to best second-place Holy Names (286 +12).

Oher Trail Blazers golfers to excel included Landon Anderson who placed 17th at 223 +7, Jayce Frampton, who finished 32nd at 233 +17 and Dalton Stanger, who finished 38th at 236 +20.

The Trail Blazers will next compete at the 2018 West/South regional championships May 7-9 at the Tascosa Golf Club of Amarillo, Texas.

The Dixie State women fared fairly well, placing 5th overall with three Trail Blazers golfers placing in the Top 20, including Katie Ford, who was 11th overall at 230 +14, Cailyn Cardall, who was 13th overall at 235 +19 and Ashley Fernandez who was 15th overall at 236 +20.

California Baptist, who will be entering Division I next season, was the women’s Pac-West tournament champion, posting 875 +11 overall.

HUTCHINSON, Kan.-Wednesday at the WAC men’s golf championship tournament, Utah Valley placed third overall, capping off a stellar week of competition at the Prairie Dunes Country Club.

The Wolverines were led by Blair Bursey, who tied for 1oth, shooting a 220 +10. Additionally, Ariel Elftman-Hanson shot a 221 +11 to place 13th overall and Aaron Yeates placed 15th at 223 +13.

The championship was won by Missouri-Kansas City at 865 +25 with Paul Foulquie getting the best overall score for the Kangaroos.

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif.-The Utah Utes men’s golf team finished 12th out of 12 schools at the final day of competition at the Pac-12 championship tournament Wednesday, shooting a disappointing 1445 +25.

The USC Trojans took the team title with a score of 1389,-31, outdistancing second-place Colorado, as the Buffaloes shot a 1393 -27.

The Trojans’ star was Justin Suh, the individual Pac-12 champion, who shot a 268 -16. The Utes’ highest placing finisher was Tristan Mandur, who was tied for 34th overall at 285 +1.
