No. 25 Snow College Remains Undefeated in Region Play

EPHRAIM, Utah (January 14, 2017) – The No. 25 Snow College men’s basketball team maintained its lead in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings with an 86-79 victory over Utah State – Eastern on Saturday. With the victory, the Badgers hold a one-game lead over No. 21 Salt Lake Community College in the league standings.

The Badgers jumped out to a 20-point lead with 6:10 left in the first half and held an 18-point lead at the half. Snow dominated much of the second half as well; however, the Eagles made a run late in the game to cut in to the lead after the Badgers found themselves in foul trouble. Zach Hunsaker fouled out with just over three minutes remaining, and Blake Truman played sparingly with four fouls. Offensively four Snow players scored in double figures, including Nate Bruneel who led the Badgers with 19 points. Hunsaker was credited with 16 points, while AJ Jones and Riley Panter each finished with 15 points.

With the win, the Badgers improve to 16-2 on the season, including a perfect 4-0 record in Region 18 play. Snow will next take on Southern Idaho on Thursday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Horne Activity Center in Ephraim, Utah.
