Weber State Football Prepares For North Dakota Saturday

GRAND FORKS, N.D.-Saturday, #4 Weber State football, armed with its highest ranking in school history, continues in its Big Sky Conference season by visiting the North Dakota Fighting Hawks.

The Wildcats and Fighting Hawks each come into this game with identical 5-2 records at the Alerus Center of Grand Forks, N.D. for a 1:00 pm MDT kickoff.

The Weber State defense remains the strength of the team as the Wildcats lead the nation in turnovers forced (22) and fumbles recovered with 11. They are tied for fumble recoveries with Bucknell, Central Arkansas and Charleston Southern.

The Wildcats’ game at North Dakota commences a stretch which sees the Wildcats play on the road three times over the course of the next four games. The Wildcats lead the all-time series against the Fighting Hawks 2-1.

Weber State will also visit Southern Utah and Idaho State during this span while also hosting Sacramento State November 3 for Senior Day.

The Fighting Hawks are playing as an FCS independent, but are playing a Big Sky Conference schedule to honor the commitment they made as a former Big Sky member.

North Dakota is led by quarterback Nate Ketteringham (105-184, 1,235 yards, 11 TD’s/6 INT’s), tailbacks Brady Oliveira (99 car, 614 yards, 6 TD’s) and James Johannesson (69 car, 565 yards, 4 TD’s) and receiver Noah Wanzek (31 rec, 468 yards, 4 TD’s).

After suffering a 25-21 loss to Idaho State September 22, the Fighting Hawks have gone on a 3-game winning streak.
