WCC Announces Conference Matchups For 2018-19 Men’s Basketball

SAN BRUNO, Calif.-Thursday, the West Coast Conference announced the conference schedule for all men’s basketball teams which has changed from previous seasons.

The present 16-game schedule in league play is the result of changes adopted by the WCC Presidents’ Council as a part of the Men’s Basketball Enhancement Plan for the conference.

The matchups were put together as a collaboration of the league’s coaches based on how they reacted to surveys which entails several factors. These include multi-year team RPI and last year’s West Coast Conference tournament seedings.

BYU, as a member of this conference, has some interesting changes in it from previous seasons.

For instance, the Cougars will host the Santa Clara Broncos at the Marriott Center this season but will not face them at the Leavey Center.

Furthermore, the Cougars will travel to the Firestone Fieldhouse as the guests of the Pepperdine Waves, but Pepperdine will not play at the Marriott Center.

The Cougars will have home and away games against Gonzaga, Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Portland, Saint Mary’s, San Diego and San Francisco.

BYU’s season commences November 6 at Reno, Nev. against early Final Four favorite Nevada with the Wolf Pack boasting three possible NBA draft picks on next season’s roster.
