BRIGHAM CITY, Utah-The Wasatch Wasps exploded for seven runs in the 2nd Inning and nine more in the 5th Inning as they decimated the Box Elder Bees 16-4 Wednesday in the consolation bracket of the 5-A state playoffs. Wasatch next faces the Bountiful Braves Saturday at 4:00 pm in the third round. Because the Braves and Wasps are both #4 seeds from their respective regions, a coin flip will decide where this weekend’s game will be played.

SANDY, Utah-Ethan Bell found the net twice and Traven England earned the shutout as the Alta Hawks stonewalled Wasatch 2-0 in the first round of the 5-A boys’ soccer playoffs Wednesday. This loss ends the Wasps’ season.
