Cross Country: Wasatch Girls Place 9th; Boys 4th at Soldier Hollow

HEBER CITY, Utah-Saturday, the Wasatch High boys and girls cross country teams hosted the Wasatch XC Invitational with the girls placing 4th in the standings and the boys finising 9th overall.

For the girls, the Wasps netted 111 points, with Mountain View placing first with 39 points. Copper Hills placed second with 71 points and Bear River checked in at third with 108 points.

For the Wasps’ girls, Hailey Ellis was the best overall athlete as she placed 5th overall in a time of 21:21:00.

Additionally, Abbie Randall finished 10th in a time of 22:08.10, while Madelyn King finished 27th overall (23:31:80), Anna Baird was 43rd (24:42:10), Brinlee Luster placed 46th (24:58:00) and Anna McCullough finished 48th overall (25:11:70).

The overall winner for the girls was Lehi’s Anna Martin in a time of 19:01:10.

For the boys, the Wasps netted 250 points to finish 9th overall. The American Fork Cavemen won the team title with 35 points as their star runner, Carson Clinger, won the individual title in 16:59:00.

The Wasps’ best overall boys runner was Josh Horner, who placed 25th in a time of 18:34.20. Other Wasps to place included Bentley Ackerson in 29th (18:53:50), Caeden Jarvis in 66th (20:24:30), Ben McCullough in 67th (20:28:60), Hunter Patterson in 68th (20:31:10) and Tad Webb in 79th (20:50:30).
