Wasatch Football Steps Up With Defense In Win Over Maple Mountain

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Friday, Wasatch High football stepped up with a gutty hard-fought win over Maple Mountain 13-10 in Region 8 football action to improve to 2-1 in league play.

After the Wasps scored on their first possession of the game on a Brock Cloward (13-26, 142 yards, TD) touchdown pass to Brydger Purdy (5 rec, 70 yards, TD), the defenses took over on both squads.

Matthias Dunn made field goals from 31 and 25 yards away for the Wasps while the defense limited the Golden Eagles to only 254 yards of offense.

Parker Quinton also came up with a key interception for the Wasps in the 4th Quarter to squelch a potential go-ahead drive for the Golden Eagles.

Wasatch next hosts the Provo Bulldogs in another key Region 8 tilt on a short week as the game will be on Thursday October 11 at Wright-Tree Stadium.
