HEBER CITY, Utah-Friday, the Wasatch Wasps’ football team had a successful Homecoming and opening to the Region 8 season as they overpowered Timpanogos 27-20 at Wright-Tree Stadium.
Brock Cloward completed 20 of 31 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns as the Wasps improved to 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in Region 8 play. Cloward has now thrown 22 touchdown passes on the season for Wasatch.
Brydger Purdy also caught a touchdown pass and came through with a key interception to help the Wasps pull out the win.
Kicker Matthias Dunn added field goals of 38 and 25 yards to help the Wasps come up with insurance scores to keep the Timberwolves at bay.
The Wasps’ season continues September 28 at Springville.
