Wasatch Boys and Girls Cross Country Excel At Nebo Invitational

SALEM, Utah-Friday, while the Wasatch Wasps’ football team excelled against Timpanogos and had a successful Homecoming game, other Wasps athletes performed spectacularly on a grand stage.

At the Nebo Invitational at Salem Hills High School the boys’ cross country squad placed seventh with the girls placing eighth.

American Fork swept both titles, amassing 25 points in the boys’ competition (Dalton Crems won the overall title for the Cavemen in a time of 15:20:40) and for the girls, the Cavemen posted 37 points while Westlake’s Abby Jensen was the individual champion in a time of 18:16.60.

For the boys, Wasatch posted 203 points, placing seventh overall.

The Wasps’ boys were led by Mason Heimburger (16:38:40) who placed 25th, Josh Horner (16:57:0o) placing 36th, Bentley Ackerson (16:59:90) placing 37th, Carson Guymon (17:30:20) placing 52nd, Jake Giles (17:31:10) placing 53rd, Ben McCullough (17:32:90) finishing 54th and Josh Benson (17:36:20) finishing 56th.

The Wasatch girls were comparably excellent, finishing eighth in the standings with 196 points.

The stars for the Wasps’ girls were Abbie Randall (20:08:60) finishing 28th, Anna Baird (20:20:90) placing 31st, Madelyn King (21:15:30) finishing 44th, Anna McCullough (21:54:10) placing 49th and Savanna Dorrough (22:08.30) finishing 54th.
