TRNAVA, Slovakia-Utah Valley University sophomore wrestler Taylor LaMont will represent Team USA for the unprecedented sixth consecutive time during next week’s World Championships at Trnava, Slovakia.
LaMont earned his spot to compete on the 2018 U.S. Junior Greco-Roman World Team back in June when he claimed the spot after his opponent failed to make weight at a UWW Junior World Greco-Roman Special Wrestle-Off in Atlanta.
LaMont, who will be a redshirt sophomore this upcoming season, went 27-5 and is the first wrestler in Wolverines history to be ranked #1 nationally.
He will compete September 18 with the qualification rounds in the morning at Trnava.
