SAN FRANCISCO-Utah senior punter Mitch Wishnowsky has been named as the Pac-12 special teams player of the week Monday after his successful performance in a 42-10 win over Arizona last Friday.
This was Wishnowsky’s first conference player of the week honor this season and the fourth of his career.
The native of Perth, Australia booted four punts for a season-high average of 48.2 yards.
Additionally, he had two punts of 50 or more yards, with a long of 55 and marooned the Wildcats inside their own 20 for three of his four points. Furthermore, he had two punts stranding the Wildcats inside their 10-yard line.
He faked a punt and ran for 28 yards as well Friday to set up the Utes’ last touchdown of the game. His 28-yard rush on the fake punt is a career high.
