SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, the University of Utah men’s and women’s swim/dive teams will have its first exhibition of the season as they face bitter rival BYU for the BYU Relays.
Friday’s schedule consists of coed relays, 3 x 50’s and several other events. Admission is free to the public.
The regular season meet between the schools is Friday and Saturday January 25 and 26 at the Don Reddish Pool in Ute Natatorium.
The Utes’ regular season commences Tuesday and Wednesday October 9 and 10 at Stanford and California, respectively.
The Utes’ first home event is October 11 against Division II Colorado Mesa.
Standouts on the women’s roster include senior captains Jordan Anderson of Granite Bay, Calif., Darby Wayner of Savannah, Ga. and Genny Robertson of Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
Another senior, Gillian St. John of Albuquerque, N.M. returns as a versatile swimmer, primarily excelling in the 200 IM and 50 free and fly events.
Additionally, new freshman, Kristina Miletic of Zagreb, Croatia will compete for the Utes in distance events.
The Utah women’s star divers include sophomore Emma Ruchala of Tinley Park, Ill., sophomore Clare Greenlow of Menlo Park, Calif and senior Makenzie Caufield of Reno, Nev.
