LOGAN, Utah-Wednesday, Utah State head men’s basketball coach Craig Smith announced the signing of Portuguese national Neemias Queta, a 6-11 center out of Barreiro, Portugal.
Smith lauded the fact that Queta brings “length, athleticism and rim protection” to the Aggies.
Smith did mention that Queta’s offensive game needs some work at this stage of his career.
Queta was a member of the Portugal U-20 team at the European Championships as he amassed 14.3 points and 10.3 boards per game for the Portuguese.
Queta also had a tournament-best 2.9 blocks per game and had double-doubles against the Netherlands and Hungary.
Queta has also played club ball with SL Benfica B of Lisbon during the 2017-18 season.
