Utah Football Sweeps Pac-12 Player of the Week Awards

SAN FRANCISCO-Monday, Utah football swept the Pac-12 player of the week awards by virtue of their 41-28 win over USC which gives them control of the Pac-12 South.

Quarterback Tyler Huntley won the offensive player of the week award, linebacker Chase Hansen took the defensive player of the week award and kicker Matt Gay was named as the special teams player of the week.

Huntley tied a career-high with 341 passing yards and completed 22 of 29 passes for four scores.

Additionally, he ran for 33 yards and a score.

Hansen, who won his second defensive player of the week award of the season, posted 11 tackles for the Utes and his second interception of the season. Hansen played a crucial role in the Trojans converting only 3 of 14 3rd downs.

Gay, who also won his second conference player of the week award on the season, made both of his field goal attempts and all 5 of his PAT’s.
