LOGAN, Utah-Saturday, Utah State men’s basketball seeks its first Mountain West conference win of the season by hosting the Air Force Falcons at the Spectrum.
The Aggies come in to Saturday’s game at 10-4 but are coming off a 72-49 loss to Nevada last Wednesday evening at Reno, Nev.
Utah State shot a season-low 26.2 percent from the field against the Wolf Pack and saw their bench outscored for the first time this season (Nevada’s reserves prevailed 14-12).
The Aggies are currently scoring 79.1 points per game and surrendering only 65.4 points per contest.
Junior guard Sam Merrill remains Utah State’s star as he averages 19.4 points per game.
The sharpshooter out of Bountiful, Utah is also shooting 50 percent from the field (89-178) and 92.8 percent (64-69) at the foul line.
The 5-8 Falcons are also seeking their first Mountain West Conference win as they lost 65-58 to New Mexico Wednesday.
The Falcons average 67.2 points per game while surrendering 70.1 points per contest.
Air Force is led on the season by junior forward Lavell Scottie (12.6 points/5.2 rebounds per game) and junior forward Ryan Swan (12.2 points, 5.8 rebounds per game).
