Phebe James Helps Dixie State Swimming Achieve Highly In Classroom

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Former Wasatch High star swimmer Phebe James scored highly in the classroom during the fall semester, helping Dixie State receive a prestigious academic team award.

James, a senior out of Heber City who competes in the freestyle, backstroke and medley relay events, was among the Trailblazers who helped the squad achieve a collective 3.48 GPA during the fall semester.

This enabled Dixie State to be honored with College Swimming and Diving Coaches of Association Scholar All-American team honors per a Tuesday announcement.

The Trailblazers’ excellence in the classroom was the second-best among Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schools as only Nebraska-Kearney (3.59 GPA) scored higher in the RMAC.

To earn the CSCAA honors, teams must post at least a collective 3.0 GPA and maintain a roster of 12 or more student-athletes.

James and her Dixie State teammates return to competition February 13-16 at the RMAC Swimming/Diving Championships at Lewisville, Texas.
