Jazz To Play Regular Season Game In Mexico City For the First Time in History

MEXICO CITY-Per numerous reports, including that of Eric Woodyard of the Deseret News, news broke Tuesday morning that the Utah Jazz would play a regular season game in Mexico City for the first time.

The Jazz will be the guests of the Orlando Magic December 15 at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico as part of the NBA Mexico City games 2018 series.

The Magic will also serve as the hosts December 13 at Mexico City against the Chicago Bulls.

The Jazz has previously played in international regular season games as they played the Phoenix Suns in Tokyo to commence the 1990-1991 NBA season.

The Jazz most recently played in Mexico City in a preseason game October 5, 2003 against the Dallas Mavericks.

They also played in Mexico City in the preseason October 26 and 27, 1996 against the Mavericks and Suns, respectively.

The NBA has also agreed to a multi-year partnership with Mexican entertainment entity Zignia Live to play several regular-season games in Mexico over the course of the next few seasons.
