Former Wasatch High State Champ Wrestler Speaks to WHS Athletes

HEBER CITY, (Wasatchhighathletics.com), Monday, more than 70 Wasatch High School student-athletes were blessed to hear from a former Wasatch High legend about overcoming adversity.

Doug Kohler, a 1973 Wasatch High state champion wrestler spoke to the student-athletes about his experiences in climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa, and what his preparation entailed.

Kohler informed his audience that this was the most difficult thing he had ever done and wanted to quit the process many times.

Nevertheless, when things looked their bleakest, he remembered his time as a wrestler at Wasatch High School, and that his experiences competing for the Wasps prepared him for his ultimate success in this regard.

He then instructed his audience to face the trials in their lives head-on and learn from the experiences they go through.

At the conclusion, the athletes remarked they were motivated and are now more ready to face their challenges in life.
