SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, as the second week of “Camp Kyle” commences at the University of Utah, the pads come on for the football players.
This is considered the final day of the acclimatization period and tackling will commence Tuesday.
Additionally, all practices are becoming morning sessions as they will remain until the end of camp, as opposed to late afternoon practices last week.
The first Utes’ scrimmage of the season is slated for Saturday August 11.
Meanwhile, athletic director Mark Harlan has initiated the “#RedFridayU” campaign which encourages Utes fans to wear red and “flash the U” on Friday.
The Utah athletic department also announces that on the Utes’ radio broadcasts, play-by-play man Bill Riley will be joined by new analysts in former Utah star QB and NFL journeyman signal-caller Scott Mitchell and former Utes punter Tom Hackett on the air.
