STILLWATER, Okla.-Saturday, as Day 2 of the NCAA men’s golf championship commenced from Karsten Creek, the Brigham Young men’s golf team moved up six places in the standings from 19th to 13th.
The Cougars’ best player through two full days of competition remains Patrick Fishburn who is -5 overall. He is the only BYU player thus far without a plus score.
Texas Tech is currently in first place as the team’s collective score is -5 after shooting a 287 in Round 2. Ivan Ramirez is the Red Raiders’ overall best player thus far at -5, while Hurly Long is at -4 for Texas Tech.
Because of the Cougars’ “No Sunday play” policy, they will resume action Monday while the rest of the field resumes on Sunday. The Cougars were allowed to count a round they shot on Thursday as their “third round” so they will be on pace with the rest of the field.
