Sheriff’s corporal accused of custodial sexual misconduct

OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A corporal assigned to the corrections division of the Weber County Sheriff’s Office is accused of multiple counts of sexual misconduct with a person in custody.

The Sheriff’s Office says an internal investigation begun in November in sheriffs’ Cpl. Jeremy Miller being placed on administrative leave on Dec. 10 and his arrested Thursday on suspicion of multiple counts of custodial sexual misconduct.

A Sheriff’s Office statement said an internal investigation was ongoing and that no additional information was being released.

The Standard-Examiner reports that the Sheriff’s Office operates the main jail in Ogden and a work-release facility and that it was not known where Miller worked or when or where the alleged activities occurred.

Online court records didn’t list an attorney for Miller who could comment on the allegations.
