(Salt Lake City, UT) – A Mexican official says President Trump’s tough talk about ways to pay for a border wall could have a negative effect on Utah. Mexican Consul Javier Chagoya says over 800-million-dollars in trade goods flow from Utah to Mexico each year. Chagoya thinks any talk of border taxes or other fees on Mexican goods could reduce those exports and cost jobs in Utah. Chagoya also suggests creating a program to reduce illegal immigration by allowing Mexicans to find legal temporary work in the U.S. and then return home.Â
