Headstones damaged, toppled when pickup rolls in cemetery

MURRAY, Utah (AP) — Police in a Salt Lake City suburb say two people in a stolen pickup ran off after rolling and crashing the vehicle in a cemetery where headstones were left damaged and toppled.

KSL-TV reports that the crash occurred Thursday in Murray after police officers spotted the Dodge Ram and had begun to chase the truck when it hit two cars and then rolled after driving over curb and into the cemetery.

Police say officers searched the area but couldn’t find the people who ran from the truck after it crashed.

Police Sgt. Kim Rees said there was no indication at the scene that the two people were injured in the crash.
