Distracted driver deaths down, but aggressive drivers are up

(Taylorsville, UT) — Fewer people were killed on Utah’s roadways in 2017 than the year before.

According to the Utah Department of Transportation, 273 people were killed in accidents last year. That’s seven fewer than the year before.

UDOT officials say the number of people who died in crashes involving distracted drivers has dropped.

However, the number of fatalities caused by aggressive drivers more than doubled.
