Brydger Purdy Named As Deseret News’ Football Player of the Week

HEBER CITY, Utah-As confirmed Wednesday afternoon, Wasatch High School football star Brydger Purdy, who has helped the Wasps to a 6-2 (2-1 in Region 8) record, was named as the Deseret News’ Football Player of the Week.

Purdy, who is a receiver/linebacker and special teams standout, was instrumental in the Wasps’ hard-fought 13-10 win over Maple Mountain last Friday.

The senior amassed five passes for 70 yards, including a 35-yard scoring reception in the 1st Quarter for Wasatch in the win. Additionally, he posted 14 tackles and a forced fumble.

Purdy is also a star in the classroom, as he carries a 3.95 GPA and is taking many challenging courses to prepare for his collegiate future.

Don’t forget to tune into Wasatch Wasps football this evening, rather than Friday, as the Wasps host the Provo Bulldogs in another Region 8 tilt.
